Il dott. Karl Anders Knutsson si è laureato in medicina e chirurgia presso l’Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele nel 2010 con una tesi volta a confrontare due tecniche chirurgiche di trapianto corneale per il trattamento del cheratocono evoluto. Durante la specializzazione si è dedicato prevalentemente al trattamento delle patologie corneali, alla chirurgia refrattiva e della cataratta e al trattamento delle patologie retiniche come la retinopatia diabetica e la degenerazione maculare legata all’età sotto la guida del Prof. Francesco Bandello. Nel 2015, ha svolto una fellowship chirurgica nel Regno Unito presso il Bristol Eye Hospital. Ha conseguito il diploma di specializzazione in Oftalmologia discutendo una tesi sul confronto di due tipologie di lenti oculari per la chirurgia della cataratta. Attualmente svolge la sua attività specialistica in qualità di medico consulente presso l’Unità Operativa Cornea e Superficie Oculare dell’ Ospedale San Raffaele diretta dal Prof. Paolo Rama. Da diversi anni è membro della ESCRS, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, dove partecipa frequentemente come relatore ai congressi annuali ed è membro della Società Italiana di Trapianto di Cornea (SITRAC). Il Dott. Knutsson si occupa nello specifico di patologie della cornea e trapianti di cornea, chirurgia refrattiva e chirurgia della cataratta. Nel 2023 ha ottenuto il riconoscimento di Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmologists- Subspecialist in Cataract and Refractive Surgery (FEBOS-CR), titolo conferito a specialisti con una formazione avanzata nella chirurgia della cataratta e refrattiva.
